Signup risk test

Run an email and IP through BurnGuard’s email and network signals and get a score with readable reasons.

Nothing you enter is stored.

How the score works

Each signal has a weight from 0 to 100. Weights combine so that several weak signals add up, but the score never exceeds 100. A disposable domain alone is a strong signal; a Gmail +tag alone is weak; a +tag from a datacenter IP on a brand-new device that already made five accounts is not subtle.

Signals in this test

  • Disposable or throwaway domain, missing mail server (MX)
  • Gmail dot and +tag aliases, random-looking usernames
  • Datacenter and hosting IPs, commercial VPN ranges, Tor exit nodes

The API adds device reuse, signup velocity per IP, subnet and device, and clustering of linked accounts. See the API reference.

FAQ

Is this the full BurnGuard check?

It covers the email and network signals. The API also scores device reuse, signup velocity and clusters across your own signups, which need your traffic to work.

Do you store what I test?

No. The free tools do not store emails or IPs. Requests are rate-limited per visitor to prevent abuse.

Why is a datacenter IP risky?

Real people sign up from home, mobile and office networks. Scripts usually run on cloud servers or behind commercial VPNs, so a datacenter IP is a moderate signal on its own and a strong one combined with others.
